Musicians, Actors and Dancers at JOSP Fest

Art will take centre stage at JOSP Fest, Journeys of the Spirit Festival, that will be held from the 14 -17 January in Rome at New Rome Fair Grounds. During the four days of Festival, musicians, actors and dancers will showcase their talent to the JOSP Fest visitors. Here some of the artists that will perform at JOSP Fest: January 14 Ambrogio Sparagna Talented musician and Italian author of folk music, Sparagna has shared with the world the sounds and words of the Italian tradition. He has collaborated with artists, such as Francesco de Gregori, Lucio Dalla and Angelo Branduardi. He wrote “Messa Popolare” for the 2000 Jubilee played in Rome’s Church of St. Ignazio. Pamela Villloresi Villoresi started her career in the 70’s as a theatre actress with the illustrious director Giorgio Strehler. She then joined the cinema playing for directors, such as Giuliano Montaldo and Michele Placido. In 2004 she won the “Premio Gasmann” for the mise-en-scene of “Tre Sorelle” by Anton Checov. Paolo Pallante Young singer-songwriter and talented guitarist, Pallante was a pharmacist who couldn’t suppress his love for jazz music. Among other important collaborations, in 2008 he opened for the great American guitarist Ritchie Kotzen. January 15 Sandy Muller This young singer-songwriter’s first album “Sandy Muller,” edited in 2006, showcases her Brazilian origins. It has the contribution of several eminent musicians, such as Marcelo Costa and Caetano Veloso. Maurizio Trippitelli As percussionist and drummer, Trippitelli played with many prestigious symphony orchestras, such as “Orchestra Sinfonica della Rai,” “Teatro dell’Opera di Roma,” and the “Boston Symphony.” He has collaborated with several international artists, such as Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli, Amy Stewart and Dulce Pontes. He founded the “Maurizio Trippitelli Percussion Ensemble” with the purpose of discovering new sounds and potentials for percussion instruments. Enzo Gragnaniello Acclaimed Neapolitan singer-songwriter Gragnaniello is a three time winner of “Targa Tenco” award. He composed some of the most famous Italian songs, such as “Cu’ Mmè,” performed by Mia Martini and Roberto Murolo. January 16 Enrico Bertolino Popular comedian, he was an actor and author of famous Italian TV programs, such as “Le Iene,” “Zelig,” and the showman in “Convenscion” and “Bulldozzer.” He also wrote several books, often collaborating with Professor Luca Varvelli. Yungchen Lhamo Tibetan singer and composer, Lhamo is known all over the world for her unique style and vocal reach. She collaborated with international artists, such as Annie Lennox, REM, Peter Gabriel and Sheryl Crow. Due to the difficult political situation in her homeland, she has been living in New York since 2000. Albano Carrisi Celebrated Italian singer Albano Carrisi was born in Brindisi, Apulia, in 1943. Gifted with a unique voice, he dedicated his life to music and soon won the heart of many people. He has written and composed almost every song he has performed. In 1984 he won, together with Romina Power, the famous Italian music competition Festival di Sanremo, for their song “Ci sarà.” Albano continues to gain great successes spreading his passion for music and entertainment. January 17 Gaia Straccamore Young Roman ballerina, Straccamore was a brilliant student at “Scuola di Danza del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma” and at the German academy “Princesse Grace.” She has won several international awards and from 2006 she is a Principal Dancer at “Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.” JOSP Fest, created by Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi, an entity of the Vicariate of Rome, Department of the Holy See, organized by Quo Vadis,the International Festival of the Itineraries of the Spirit, is an event that promotes the experiences tied to “journeys of the Spirit.” It represents a pilgrimage across continents and cultures and is the occasion to discover the beauty that the world offers to those interested in traveling and learning.
