Religious shrines present at JOSP Fest

Journeys of the Spirit Festival

Religious shrines will be present at JOSP Fest, Journeys of the Spirit Festival, that will be held at the New Rome Fair Grounds from the 14 – 17 January The four-day Festival, created by Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi, an activity of the Vicariate of Rome, Department of the Holy See, and organized by Quo Vadis, will host European shrines in the exhibition area called WORLD that is dedicated to pilgrimage destinations and the religious-cultural locations around the globe.

Together with the Italian shrines such as the Shrine of Our Lady of Loreto (Marche), Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows at Castelpetroso (Molise), Shrine of St. Gabriel (Abruzzo) and the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompei (Campania), JOSP Fest will also host the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Lourdes, which in 2010 will begin a three-year period dedicated to prayer with Bernadette, of which the first theme will be “ Make the sign of the cross,” presents a universal message accessible to all, and the shrine also aspires to be a school of peace.

Father Alfredo Feretti, who is also responsible for Youth Services and liturgy at Our Lady of Lourdes, will present the rosary recorded on the 8 December in the Grotto of Massabielle, the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at JOSP Fest. Meanwhile Our Lady of Kevelaer, Consolatrice of the Afflicted, located in Germany will also be present.

The city and its Shrine are a location where travelers can rest and meditate in a cultural and historical setting in Europe.

JOSP Fest, the International Festival of the Itineraries of the Spirit, is an event that promotes the experiences tied to “journeys of the Spirit.” It represents a pilgrimage across continents and cultures and is the occasion to discover the beauty that the world offers to those interested in traveling and learning.
